light place space

Diana Henry is an artist/photographer and producer.

After studying fine art textiles at Goldsmiths, London, she made props for TV commercials and worked in independent television production before going on to produce numerous live theatrical events, immersive digital installations, and award winning content for major international shows.

She brings this knowledge and experience to her creative practice. Working primarily in site specific environments, she draws on the activities within these - from the movement of people to the diurnal patterns of light - to inform her work.

"I am particularly interested in the way we use and respond to spaces, in the affect of movement and natural elements such as light, and in the stories that are created."

This notion formed the basis for a Masters in Theatre: Visual Language of Performance at Wimbledon College of Art in 2006 where she specialised in light and projection. Working with digital, sound and performance artists, she created installations and performative environments in a variety of locations from traditional theatre spaces to corporate offices. She has continued to develop this work and is now also expressing her ideas through photography and writing.

Whatever the medium and context, at its heart is curiosity, an interest in people, places and their stories, and a passion for sharing these.
