Presentation and communication skills for artists
Creating work is one thing but, for some people, talking about it is quite another.
Whilst many artists are comfortable in presenting their work to a broad audience - funding bodies, commercial enterprises, local authorities, academic institutions - others struggle and this can hold them back.
As a practicing artist I understand the issues that students and artists can face, and as a producer working in the creative and commercial sectors, I have extensive experience of supporting and helping people at all levels to express and communicate their ideas. Through this experience, I am able to provide practical guidance and first hand knowledge within academic and creative environments to enable artists to present their work, and the ideas that underpin that work, with clarity and confidence.
Mentoring
I also offer voluntary mentoring services for students, artists and entry-level production personnel in the creative industries. Since 2015 I have been a mentor on the UAL (University of the Arts London) mentoring programme which provides one-to-one mentoring for graduate and post-graduate students. In 2016 I was awarded UAL Mentor of the Year.
